They are very popular in countries like India, Pakistan, Indonesia, South Africa, Netherlands, Philippines, United States, Canada, Australia, Belgium, Nairobi, Kenya etc among various other countries.

However, with so many Online Scams on the World Wide Web, it is hard to differentiate between legitimate Micro Job Websites and Scam Micro Job Websites. Therefore, I thought of compiling this list of Online Microjob Websites that are legitimate.

But before getting to the list of Best Micro Job Websites, let us understand in brief about Micro Jobs.

What Are Micro Jobs

Micro Jobs are simple tasks that can usually be completed in few minutes or few hours. The tasks are very simple and basic knowledge of internet is sufficient for anyone to complete these tasks.

At Micro Jobs Websites, you may be asked to,

  • Sign up for newsletters on websites
  • Like or share something on Facebook and Google Plus
  • Tweet or retweet something
  • Make posts on forum
  • Post comments on blogs
  • Create a Gmail or Yahoo account for someone
  • Rate an Android or IOS application
  • Classify products into categories
  • Find information on Google
  • Judge the sentiments of the tweet etc, among various other jobs

The tasks may also include

  • Technical Wwork like Web Designing, Graphics Designing, SEO etc.
  • Offline work like delivering things, lifting work, cleaning etc.
  • Testing Websites and applications
  • Proofreading, transcribing audio etc.
  • Employer: A Person who wants to get a task done
  • Worker: A Person who wants to make money by completing tasks

How Much Can I Earn With Micro Jobs?

The money you can earn with Micro Jobs depends on lots of factors including type of work, skills required for work, your geographical location etc among several other factors.

For basic tasks like categorization of data, internet research etc, you can expect to make $1-$3 per hour. On the other hand for complex tasks like web designing and application development, you can easily expect to earn over $100 per job

How Will I Get Paid?

Almost all the websites pay in USD. Since workers are from across the globe, most of these websites make payments through Payment Service providers like PayPal, Payoneer, Payza, etc. Some companies also make payments through a check to people in the USA and Canada.

You can find Payment Modes for each of the websites on their respective websites.

So, now that you know about how Micro Job works, let us get straight to the list of Best Micro Job Websites.

Online MicroJobs Websites That Require Only Basic Skills

Below are the top online micro jobs websites that offer tasks that require just basic internet and analytical skills.

1. Amazon Mechanical Turk

Amazon Mechanical Turk, popularly known as Mturk is the most reliable website for Micro Jobs as it is owned by Amazon. Also, the pay per task at Mturk are generally higher than other Micro Jobs website.

At Mturk, Micro Jobs are called, Human Intelligence Tasks or HITs. The person who posts the task is called Requester and  the person who performs the task is called Worker.

You have the option to either register as Worker or Requester. To earn money with Mturk, you need to first Register with Amazon.com as a worker.

If you are already registered with Amazon, you can directly sign in through your Amazon account. You will then have to send a request to register yourself as Worker. Amazon will review your request and may either approve or reject it at its sole discretion.

No one apart from Amazon knows the criteria for approving or rejecting requests. However, requests of people from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and most other parts of Asia are generally denied, a fact which Amazon.com has denied. People from US/UK and other Tier 1 countries should definitely Register with Mturk.

2. Figure Eight

Figure is a platform where you can complete simple tasks to earn a decent amount of money. At Figure Eight, the micro jobs are referred to as "Tasks".

Usually, the tasks at Figure Eight are very different and slightly complex as compared to Mturk. The tasks generally include

  • Finding information on the internet
  • Classify products into categories
  • Analysing the sentiments of the tweets
  • Extracting data from Invoices etc.

Figure Eight is the best way to make money if you are from Tier 2 and Tier 3 countries as it does not have any geographic restrictions. Rather, Figure Eight restricts the tasks depending on your accuracy of completing previous tasks.

As a beginner, starting at Level 0, you will have access to very few tasks, and at times no tasks. The ones that are available have very low pay rates and so a lot of people think it is a waste of time.

However, as you complete more tasks with good accuracy, you will be promoted to newer levels where you can find enough tasks to keep you busy all the time.

3. Microworkers

For those who are unable to register on Mturk, Microworkers is a good Alternative to Mturk. At Microworkers, the Job to be done is called a Task. The person posting the task is called Employer and person performing the task is called Worker.

It is one of best paying micro jobs sites as they don't allow employers to post task below a certain rate which depends on the complexity of the task as well as the country of the worker.

The pay per task usually varies between $0.05 to $0.5 with people from Tier 1 countries getting better pay per tas. So, if you are from Tier 1 country, you can earn up to $50-$100 from tasks. However, if you are from Tier 2 nation, your earnings will be significantly lower and it is difficult to cross the $30 mark.

Also, more tasks are available to workers from Tier one countries like USA, UK, Canda etc. So, if you are from India, Pakistan, Philippines or other such countries, you can expect fewer tasks.

Microworkers offers common registration for both workers and employers. While registering make sure you enter correct information including address, as Microworkers will mail you a verification PIN to your postal address which you will have to enter to withdraw your earnings for the first time. This process is necessary to ensure that people don't create multiple accounts.

4. Clickworker

Clickworker is a crowdsourcing platform similar to Figure Eight. You get paid to complete micro jobs called tasks. The tasks include jobs like completing a survey, online research, categorizing data, copy editing, proofreading etc.

They also have an application for android as well as IOS. So if you don't own a computer, you can still make money from Clickworker using their mobile app.

Clickworker also allows you to make money via another websites Universal Human Relevant System (UHRS). However, the same is not available to all Clickworkers. You have to clear their assesement tests for qualifying for the same.

Online Microjobs That Require Relevant Skills

As discussed earlier, some microjobs require you to have some sort of skills. Below are few Microjobs that fall in to this category.

5. Fiverr

At Fiverr, you create posts called "Gigs" that tells the employer what you can do for $5 or other specified amount. The employer will then search through the gigs and hire you if he finds your gig to be interesting.

Usually the jobs include technical tasks like Graphics Desgning, Website Designing, Search Engine Optimization, Social Media Marketing, Content writing and many more jobs that require skills. However, you can also create gigs related to non technical tasks like Relationship advice, health advice, testing a website or app etc.

Fiverr started as a website that provides the above gigs at $5 and hence the name Fiverr. However, over the time they have evolved into a much more complex website. As of today, at Fiverr, you can provide custom gig offers up to $10,000.

Fiverr is an ideal platform for you if you have some sort of skills, especially technical ones. Needless to say, with Fiverr you can earn multifolds of what you could earn with the above websites

6. UserTesting

In 2019, user interface of any website has become a very important part. You could lose sales worth $$$ if you don't have an appealing UI.

Therefore, website owners are ready to pay people for testing and reviewing their website. UserTesting just acts as a mediator between a Website owner and a person who can provide feedback of a website referred to as Tester.

You can make easy money at UserTesting by signing up as a tester. All you have to do is record your screen as well as voice reviewing you review a website. You will be paid $10 for each website review which won't last more than 20 minutes.

Of course, you must be crystal clear while putting down your views. And your accent should be easily understandable for you to be legible for testing jobs at UserTesting

7. Scribie

If you are a transcriptionist or data entry expert, Scribie is the right choice for you to find Micro Jobs. At Scribie, you get paid for transcribing audio clips that are 10 minutes or less. The turn around time for submitting the transcription is 2 hours.

You first join their platform as a transcriber. You can take up work on a first come first basis. Based on your performance thereafter, you will be promoted to being a reviewer, self-reviewer and then proofreader.

As per scribie, the pay rate varies from $5 to $25 per hour of audio files. So for a 10 minute audio file you can make anywhere between $1 to $4. There is no withdrawal limit, so you can withdraw your earnings whenever you want.

Offline Micro Jobs Website

While most microjobs are completed online, some can be done offline too. We will be updating the list of offline Micro Jobs Website.

8. TaskRabbit

TaskRabbit is the only Microjobs website on this list that involves completing offline activities. Typical Micro Jobs at TaskRabbit include Installation of furniture assembly, personal assistant, handyman, cleaning work, delivery of items etc.

Once you register with TaskRabbit, they will inform you of any potential jobs in the nearby area. If you like the job and pay rates, you can discuss the details with the clients and start working on it. Once the work is done you can submit the invoice and get paid for the same.

Final Words About Micro Jobs

Micro Jobs are indeed one of the best ways to make money in your leisure time. Some Micro Job websites require you to have certain skills while you just need basic internet or analytical skills to work with others.

Of course, the pay rates too vary significantly depending on the skills required for the job. However, the best part of microjobs is you can work with multiple platforms at your own will without any contracts.

  1. Pls am interested in YouTube for full time job and you kind me true a beginner
I also want creat amination but I don’t know the best mobile app to use as a beginner

  2. Hi Aquif,

I am exploring online jobs and am glad that I came into your article. It is so concise and very informative. I thought of having various micro online jobs since I just quit from my full time job which requires me to work away from my family.

Is it possible for me to do various online jobs? Am interested in Scribie and I hope can do well. While I wanted to try Upwork, I’m afraid i can’t satisfy their requirements.

Again, thank you so much and please continue doing this noble undertaking.

    1. Lennie, micro jobs are good for side income. If you are looking for full-time income, I suggest you do try a proper freelancing job. Or maybe you can consider starting something of your own. It all comes down to your skills and the time you can devote.

  3. Hi there!

I just want to ask if it is ok even if I only work for an hour during weekdays and during at night?

  4. Hi Aquif, iam from india but living in saudi arabia.I can join with microjobs.I have a doubt regarding getting payment that is I can give an account details which is in india and work within saudi arabia….is it possible or saudi bank account is necessary for this registration.pls give a reply

    1. Hi Supriya. Most companies pay you via PayPal or Payoneer or some other gateway. You then link your bank account to these Payment Processors. Hence, as long as you are able to create and verify your paypal and payoneer account, the country of registration of these accounts as well as the country of bank account does not matter. Hope this helps you.

  5. Hi Aquif
    i live in Egypt.can I join these websites ?
i am good at data entry , translation.
can i find tasks for me easily?
    i am still a beginner.
    thank you for the article.

    1. Yes, Rubi. As far as I know, each of these websites accepts registration from your country. As for availability of tasks, Figure Eight provides tasks independent of your country. As for the rest, you have to try it out yourself to see if there are enough tasks in your country.

  6. I am not getting otp from figer eight.i can’t verify my mobile no.whats the problem bro.can you tell me?? I am from kolkata

    1. I am not sure about it, Amal. Back then when I registered, no mobile verification was required. We just needed to link our Facebook account. I suggest that you create a ticket with the ClixSense support.

  7. Dear Aquif,
This is a great service you are doing by providing authentic information about online works. I heartily appreciate you for providing us time. I have seen some other blogs about survey sites etc which actually serves as the referral site for the author.

I am currently in an Indian central government job which pays me around 25-27 K per month. Due to the financial commitments, I am looking for more revenue by doing some part time online work (obviously after office hours). As I am a goverment servant, I am not supposed to do any private job without obtaining permission from the place of work. But my boss has previously denied me permission to take up some weekend teaching jobs. So I am planning to register for some of these sites you mentioned in my Wife’s name. Do you think that would create any trouble? I mean do we need to interact with our employer through video conferencing or by Skype at any point of time while carrying out these tasks? Your advice will be very helpful.

    with regards,

  8. Aquif, u are a very good person, giving your time and advise to people. Not many people are interested in helping others, but u seem to be very kind person. Keep up the good work and may god bless u.

    1. Moises, a lot of people from your country are active on ClixSense. You should definitely try and see if you can make some money there. You can also try Microworkers. Though, I am not very sure how good it is in your country.

  9. Hi Aquif

Its really helpful and now I got a clear view. Tell me one thing can I earn more than 15k per month by doing micro jobs because I am gonna leave my job.

    1. Sudip, Online Microjobs are good to earn a side income. I would never advise you to rely on MicroJobs as your primary income source. If you are going to leave your job anyways, you can make few bucks with Micro Jobs. For full-time income, you can consider Blogging, Youtubing or you can take up Freelance Technical jobs.

  10. Hi, Aquif! Thank you for such a clear guide to MicroJobs. I see many people not really aware of what they are about and this article should help a lot of people. I’ve actually used some of these websites a little while back to hire a few people. It works great for small tasks and one-off jobs. Now, as work with a virtual assistant (met him on those sites), I don’t need to go there anymore. I just give my assistant a list of tasks and see them get done. He probably uses the services of these websites when the tasks are too many, which only means that MicroJobs are great! Thanks again for such a good article!

    1. Stefan, I am not very sure if these websites are ideal for smaller tasks to be outsourced to a single person. For that, I’d prefer Upwork and Fiverr. These websites are perfect for crowdsourcing.

  11. I didn’t receive OTP in my jio sim while registering with miceoworkers. Someone told me it’s because of default DND mode activated in our sim cards. What’s the actual problem and how to solve?

    1. I don’t think it has anything to do with DND. But yes, even I do struggle sometimes with both Outgoing and Incoming SMS on Jio. The issue is most likely network related. You can either wait for some time or try using some other number.

  12. Hai Aquif,
Thanks for sharing this wonderful article…
    Great job!
This article is really nice and it is very informative.
Can you please suggest me which one is the best micro jobs website really pay well

    1. If you can register with Amazon Mechanical Turk, it is the best. You can also try ClixSense and Microworkers. Apart from Micro jobs, ClixSense also allows you to make money by completing surveys.

    2. hi…. they have rejected my amazon mechanical turk registration when i applied…. not sure why…???? do you know any reasons. please reply

    3. Bala, I’ve clearly mentioned in the article that Amazon, in most cases, does not approve an Mturk account for people in India. So, you are not the only one to be rejected. You can try ClixSense and Microworkers for Micro Jobs.

  13. i am from Bangladesh. Can you please suggest me, which web site will be suitable for me to do Microjobs and is there any complication with “PayPal” in my country?

    1. You can try Microworkers and crowdflower microjobs at Clixsense.

As for PayPal, I am not sure what exactly the reason is, but it is not available in Bangladesh.

  14. Why is it that most of this jobs are not available to Nigerians? I have searched all through the internet but I have not found any good job that pays very well for a Nigerian to engage in. Please I need your help

    1. Hi Valentine,
It totally depends on the employer to select countries from which he wants people to complete the Job. Most employers prefer workers from the USA and other developed countries. You can do nothing about it/

    1. I am sorry Kit, I have not done research on it. There are hundreds of such websites which start and close down on a daily basis. My advice would be to work only with websites which have been around for at least 3-4 years.

  15. hi..I appreciate the way you presented the information. you have included pay for various country citizens. I have never seen this info on any other blog. Thank you so much for the information. I am going to follow this blog.

  16. i was registering at microworkers and had a problem while verifying my number. i did not received the verification PIN on my number. i asked for pin 2 times and now i have exhausted my limit of asking to send pin for free. have any idea about how to solve this issue

    1. I did not face any such issues so I was not even aware about the limited attempts thing.

Have you completed any tasks at Microworkers? If not, I would suggest that you create another account with different Email ID. Make sure to clear your cookies and reset your connection so that your IP Address is changed.

In case, you have completed many tasks, you may write to Micro Workers customer support and explain them the situation. Chances are slim, but they may resend you verification pin. Hope you get it sorted out.

    1. Hi Abhishek,
I would rather say money is very less in Data Entry and Form Filling Jobs. There must be Hundreds of websites which claim to offer High Paying Data Entry Jobs. However, most of these websites are scams. They will ask you to deposit money and will never give you any such Jobs.

The only websites which offer Data Entry Jobs with good pay are Upwork and Freelancer.com. however, those Jobs are not plain data entry. You need to have excellent command over MS office products and preferably have an MS office certification. But even with the best skills and certificates, it will not be very easy to get these Jobs because of the competition Involved.
