Why We Consider Unity Wealth CAPTCHA To Be A Scam

I was the first person to report the scam by Unity Wealth. However, on 9th of March 2019, the SEC released a circular which declared working with Unity Wealth CAPTCHA to be illegal.

You can read more about it ahead in the article. Before that, let us find out why we think Unity Wealth CAPTCHA is a scam.

  • The scheme is owned by an Individual Anthony Mendoza and not a company
  • There is no information about UWealth100 on their official website.
  • Anthony Mendoza kept changing the name of the business when I and other bloggers reported the scam
  • Except for greedy recruiters of Unity Wealth, no genuine blogger is recommending Unity Wealth
  • The Business Model of CAPTCHA typing is not stable
  • Unity Wealth is a Ponzi Scheme wherein members are paid commission from registration fees obtained from new members.
  • Last, but not the least, SEC has openly declared promoting Unity Wealth 100 in any way to be illegal.

What Is Unity Wealth CAPTCHA And How Does It Work?

According to the description available in the description of their website on Google Search, Unity Wealth is an affiliate marketing company that provides training to people on How to Make Money Online and how to be a successful Entrepreneur.

However, this is far from the truth. So, let us understand how exactly Unity Wealth CAPTCHA works.

At UWealth100, you can register by paying 100 Pesos. After the payment, you will get login details which you can use to complete the CAPTCHA Typing work.

Basically, they portray themselves to be a Multi Level Marketing (MLM) company where you can become a partner by purchasing a few products from the company. As a partner, you will then have the authority to sell the company's product and also to recruit more partners.

For every partner you recruit, you will then earn a percentage of what your referred partner earns. In some cases, they also pay you a commission if your referral's referral gets new business partners or make sales. It can go up to 10th Level in some cases

In the case of Unity Wealth CAPTCHA, instead of a physical product, they provide their members CAPTCHA typing work.

Unity Wealth 100 An MLM Or Ponzi Scheme?

In the case of MLM business, companies usually sell a product worth say 50 pesos at 100 pesos to their members. So, they have an additional margin of 50 pesos from which they can pay the members.

However, the CAPTCHA typing model is not a stable business model. From the information I have, they pay you 0.2-0.3 pesos for a batch of 25 CAPTCHA and each CAPTCHA appears every 15 seconds. So, in one minute, you can type a maximum of 4 CAPTCHA and in one hour, 240 CAPTCHAs even if you work continuously.

So, in one hour you can complete 240/25 = 9.6 batches. Now, if you consider an average rate of 0.25 centavos per batch, for 9.6 batches, your earnings will be 9.6*0.25 = 2.4 Pesos. So, considering a day of 8 hours and a total of 30 days in a month, your total earnings will be 2.4*8*30= 576 pesos.

Do you think anyone will spend all his time to earn 576 pesos in a month? And remember we are taking this as a conservative estimate. No one will work 30 days a month. Also, sitting 8 hours continuously in front of the PC and typing CAPTCHA is almost next to impossible.

So, do you think you would want to work for such a ridiculously low paying job?

No?

So, why do you think anyone else will work?

So, if we assume that only a few people are actually typing a CAPTCHA, how is the owner able to pay 40 pesos per referral? The answer here is simple, the owner pays you from what he gets from the new members you recruit.

Such types of schemes wherein the owner pays the member from money available from joining fees paid by new members is called a Ponzi scheme. And as in the case of almost every single Ponzi scheme, the owner stops paying when the chain grows very large and he accumulates enough money from the new members to be able to live a luxurious life.

So, Unity Wealth is a highly unethical way of making money as you never know people you refer may lose their hard earned money or at least their precious time to recruit more people.

Is Unity Wealth CAPTCHA Legal?

Just like the owner of Unity Wealth 100, some of you may not mind earning money the ethical way. So, they may have one question in mind, Is UWealth100 Legal?

The answer is again negative.  Unity Wealth CAPTCHA is not even legal as per the Security And Exchange Commission (SEC) of the Philippines.

According to an SEC Advisory issued on  5th of March 2019, SEC disowned Unity Wealth CAPTCHA. Below is the Excerpt of the SEC Advisory which you can find at this Link

The public is hereby informed that Unity Wealth Marketing/UWealth Premium/Unitywealth 100 is not registered with the Commission as a corporation or partnership and is not authorized to solicit investments from the public, not having secured prior registration and/or license to solicit investments as prescribed under Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code (SRC). (Sic)

Further, the SEC says that promoting Unity Wealth CAPTCHA in any way is legal and may draw fine and/or imprisonment.

Those who act as salesmen, brokers, dealers or agents of Unity Wealth Marketing/UWealth Premium/Unitywealth 100 in selling and convincing people to invest in the investment scheme being offered by the said entity including doing solicitations or recruitment through the internet may likewise be prosecuted and held criminally liable under Section 28 of the SRC and penalized with a maximum fine of FIVE MILLION PESOS (Php5,000,000.00) or a maximum penalty of TWENTY ONE (21) years imprisonment or BOTH pursuant to Section 73 of the SRC.

So, given the strict words of authorities, it is foolish to promote Unity Wealth CAPTCHA and land yourself in deep trouble.

Are There Any Legitimate Ways Of Making Money Online?

Now that you know Unity Wealth 100 is not just a scam and unethical way to make money, but it is also illegal, you must be wondering if there is any genuine way to make money online.

The answer is yes, there are several legitimate ways of making money online. I have already shared the link to my article on Making Money Online. Just in case you missed it, you can check the best Online Jobs Without Investment or find a few of them listed below.

1. Blogging

Starting a blog is not free and requires you to invest some money. Also, you need good writing skills to be a good blogger. However, Blogging can help you earn a stable income enough to lead a luxurious life.

I too was broke and had nothing to do with a huge debt to pay off when I started my first blog. However, over the years, I started generating enough to clear my debt and also lead a good healthy life.

Of course, I am just 3 years into blogging and most of my earnings went into clearing my debts. However, a few more years and I can expect to lead a lavish lifestyle.

So, being from Production Engineering (Similar to Mechanical Engineering) background with limited knowledge of computers and having zero confidence in writing, if I can make big money with blogging, why can't you?

2. Microworkers

Microworkers is another good website to make money by completing simple tasks. However, the number of tasks available at Microworkers may not be much for some people as the number of tasks available at Microworkers are dependent on the geographic location. People from Tier 1 countries like the US and the UK get more tasks.

However, it does not hurt to register at the platform and make few pesos a day. It is definitely better than Unity Wealth CAPTCHA Job

3. Fiverr

Fiverr is a freelancing platform for people where you can sell your services for $5 or in the multiples of $5. You post a "Gig" on Fiverr which tells your potential client what you can do for the said amount which is usually $5.

Fiverr is ideally suitable for people who have some sort of skills which include Writing Skills, Web Designing, Web Development, Application Development, Android Development, Graphics Designing, Digital Marketing, etc. among other skills.

Registration at the platform is free. So, if you got your skills, you can make some quick bucks at Fiverr.

4. Usertesting

At Usertesting you can make money by testing and reviewing websites. All you need is a laptop or desktop computer and a mic.

You will have to record your computer screen while verbally reviewing the website. You will be paid $10 for each website review which won't last for more than 20 minutes.

Of course, there are several other ways to Make Money Online. For more information, you can find more information on my article on Online Jobs Without Investment
